Please read instructions before use. Open the battery compartment and insert 2 AAA batteries. Press "SET" to select body or surface temperature measurement. Hold the thermometer's lens 3-5 cm from the target. Press and hold the button to initiate measurement; the result will appear on the display. Repeat measurements for reliable results. An infrared thermometer measures external skin temperature. While fast and touchless, it's not comparable to rectal measurement. External factors can affect readings; therefore, it's primarily for assessing whether a fever is present. The difference between rectal and forehead temperature can be up to 1.5°C. If the thermometer indicates a high temperature, confirm with a rectal thermometer (for children) or rectal/oral thermometer (for adults). Note: Sealed hygienic item.
