The 3-pin black speed sensor connector is located 20-40 cm (8-16 inches) from the sensor. Access to the connector can be achieved by lifting the fuel tank, removing the seat, or removing a side fairing. Confirmation Steps: 1. Disconnect the Speed Sensor connector. A small flathead screwdriver may be required to separate the connector. 2. After disconnecting, connect both the male and female 3-pin harness connectors. Ensure the connectors are fully seated. 3. Locate the wire coming from the Signal Generator (Pickup Coil / CKP Sensor). If uncertain, refer to the motorcycle’s service manual or consult a professional. 4. Connect the green wire to this signal wire using the supplied red wire tap connector. (The green wire connects to the crankshaft sensor signal line.) Setup Procedure: After installation, the module must be programmed: - Turn on the ignition. The display will count down from 6 to 1, indicating that the memory is clear. - Lift the rear wheel off the ground using a stand and start the engine in Neutral. (If no center stand is available, use a long, straight road with minimal traffic.) - When the gear indicator displays "L", the learning mode begins. Slowly accelerate using the throttle. - When the display shows "1", shift into first gear. The display will blink rapidly during learning. Release the clutch and maintain engine speed above idle. - When the display shows "2", shift into second gear. - Repeat this process through all gears (5 or 6) until learning is complete. - Once programmed, the gear indicator will function correctly. - Upon turning on the ignition, the display will now count up from 1 to 6, indicating proper operation. Reset Procedure: - Turn on the ignition switch. - When the gear indicator displays "3", immediately turn off the ignition and then turn it back on. - Repeat this on/off cycle six times consecutively. - If the display counts down from 6 to 1 when the ignition is turned on, the reset is complete and memory has been cleared.
